Celebrate Human Rights Day with a community screening of Aloha
Join this special FREE community screening of the powerful documentary "Alofa" on Human Rights Day - hosted by Moana Vā and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Aotearoa New Zealand.

"Alofa" follows the moving story of Andre Afamasaga - a former Samoan pastor who came out as gay after 15 years of enduring conversion therapy. The documentary captures Andre’s journey to reconcile his faith, culture, and sexuality amidst conservative beliefs, featuring insights from mental health experts, family members, and pastors who offer a Pacific cultural perspective on LGBTQI+ inclusion.
This FREE community screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session - offering an invaluable chance for attendees to explore and share perspectives on LGBTQI+ identities and the complex intersections with religious beliefs in New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Pacific communities.
