Join volunteering community conversation events over the summer
Want to help create a living legacy for our city? Join an upcoming planting event or working bee with either Conservation Volunteers NZ or CCC Park Rangers.
It helps if you can register online to volunteer so that the groups can plan in advance.
Conservation Volunteers NZ projects
Join in at one of their Community Conservation projects at a variety of locations around Ōtautahi:
- Styx Mill Conversation Reserve;
- Bridal Path Reserve;
- Mugford Reserve;
- Styx Living Laboratory;
- Steadfast Stream - Cass Bay;
- Waikākāriki / Horseshoe Lake;
- Cedarwood Reserve; and
- Amelia Rogers Reserve.

Christchurch coast, plains and wetlands volunteer days
Help park rangers and community groups keep our coastal, regional and wetland parks looking beautiful at these planting and maintenance days.
Working bees are held at the following locations:
- Charlesworth Reserve;
- South New Brighton Domain;
- McCormacks Bay; and
- Travis Wetland.
You can also help with the local bird, freshwater invertebrate or water quality monitoring programmes.
