Let's meet Tracy Tierney...
What does your organisation do and what’s your role there?
I am the Director for the Greater Christchurch Partnership. The Greater Christchurch Partnership is a voluntary coalition of local government, mana whenua and government agencies working collaboratively to address strategic challenges and opportunities for Greater Christchurch. The current priorities are affordable housing and transport.
What do you enjoy most about your mahi or working for your organisation?
Working on the big gnarly challenges on behalf of our communities. They are hard problems to solve however progress can be made when we all work together.
What project have you been a part of at your organisation that you’re most proud of?
Partners enthusiastically endorsing a joint housing action plan aimed at actions partners can take now to address the growing unaffordability of housing in Otautahi.
Who inspires you in your mahi?
My grandchildren. I am very driven to do whatever I can to improve theirs and future generations wellbeing.
Share a book, talk, training or podcast that has influenced your professional development
I enjoy grazing inspirational Ted Talks when I have time. Simon Sinek is a ‘go to’ as I find his people centred approach to leadership relevant and inspiring.
What’s an activity, hobby, or interest that you enjoy outside of work that contributes to your own wellbeing?
Baking is my go to zen place. I enjoy listening to music while I create food with love that is always made to share – as not good for my wellbeing to eat too much of it!
What is your favourite space or place in Waitaha, and why?
Sumner Beach. Many happy memories of family outings to the beach and playground and where I feel most connected to my late mother.
