Access to free CALD Cultural Competency Courses
Staff at Health NZ, PHO and non-Governmental organisations across New Zealand are eligible to access FREE Cultural Competency Courses to work with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) migrant and refugee patients from Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American or African backgrounds.
eCALD® Services provides a range of online and face-to face training courses for the New Zealand health workforce to develop CALD cultural competencies. The courses cover various topics to enable learners to gain insight and understanding of how different cultures respond to health-related situations, health concepts, faith-based practices, and differences in expectations from health systems. Examples include:
- Working with Migrant Patients;
- Working with Refugees;
- Working with Interpreters;
- Working with Religious Diversity;
- Cultural Competency and Customer Service; and
- Working with CALD Families - Disability awareness.
All CALD courses are CME/CNE/MOPS accredited with a Certificate of Completion provided after course completion.
