Christchurch Conversations: Urban Naturing
Our native flora and fauna are integral special and unique parts of this place and people. Yet more than 4000 of our species are under threat of extinction. What is the scale of the problem in our city, and how do we turn the tide, band together and manage the threats to these taonga so that we can ensure an Ōtautahi where all living things flourish?
Join this Christchurch Conversation on urban naturing that will explore the urban dimensions of naturing and biodiversity, and how we can connect across different spheres and scales of action to engage with and support our living systems together.
Date: Tuesday 15th September 2026.
Time: 6 to 7.30pm. Doors open at 5.30pm.
Location: TSB Space at Tūranga (60 Cathedral Square, Central City) or online.
Cost: FREE but bookings are essential. A livestream virtual option is also available.
This event will feature international and local experts canvassing timeframes of the landscape and the political cycle, sites of risk and vulnerability, why cities matter, who should be involved in the planning and who benefits, the roles of community participation and governance, and nature-based solutions.
