Seminar for parents: If something happened to you tomorrow
Come along to this seminar from the Selwyn Parenting Network about the real-life decisions that every parent hopes their family never has to make. Most of us assume the important things would somehow “just happen” if we were no longer around.
- That the right person would care for the children.
- That loved ones would know what to do.
- That family would pull together.
- That a partner could simply step in.
- That the people closest to us would automatically have the legal ability to make decisions if we became seriously unwell, injured, or unable to speak for ourselves.
But without the right legal documents in place, sometimes the courts and the law decide instead. Those decisions can become even more complex for families navigating disability, neurodiversity, blended families, separation, cultural expectations, ageing parents, or children with additional needs.
Date: Thursday 21st May 2026.
Time: 6.30 to 8pm.
Location: Te Rau Horopito School (5 Arbor Green Boulevard, Rolleston).
Cost: FREE.
