Mediterranean Inspired Sunny Perennial Borders
Join this creative and practical workshop exploring the beauty of hot, dry garden design with Elizabeth Wilks. You’ll create elevations of plant combinations with a selection of hardy perennials perfect for Canterbury’s summer climate.
In this two and half hour workshop, you’ll explore perennial garden design for a hot sunny border. Learn about diverse plant and flower forms, and how to use colour and texture to both unify and diversify a design.
Date: Wednesday 21st January 2026.
Time: 6.30 to 9pm.
Location: The Kiosk at the Christchurch Botanic Gardens.
Cost: $129 for CHS members and Friends of the Botanic Gardens. $169 for non-members.

A day in Akaroa's Gardens
Come along on this day of gardens, scenery and hospitality in Banks Peninsula. This will be a luxury all-inclusive garden tour of four stunning Akaroa gardens.
Enjoy morning and afternoon tea, lunch, all garden entries, and the expertise of CHS Board Member and tour guide Gail Scrivener.
