Become an interviewer for University of Auckland Research Team
Are you fluent in Hindi/Fijian Hindi or Mandarin/Cantonese? Or are you an experienced Pakeha interviewer with a keen interest in dementia and older people?
The research team at the University of Auckland is on the lookout for Chinese and Indian bilinguals, as well as Pakeha experienced interviewers in Auckland and Christchurch for their dementia prevalence research programme.
Key Details:
- Requirements: Fluency in Hindi/Fijian Hindi or Mandarin/Cantonese OR experienced Pakeha interviewer. Interviewing experience is useful but not mandatory as training will be provided.
- Study Focus: Prevalence of dementia using the 10/66 research protocol.
- Participants: Older adults aged 55+.
- Format: Face-to-face recruitment and interviews, structured interview with guidance notes. Each interview takes approximately 90 to 120 minutes.
- Locations: Auckland and Christchurch. This will be a door-knocking survey in specific areas - usually in participants’ homes, but occasionally in local health centres or University settings.
Commitment and Training:
- Minimum commitment: 30 interviews, but you're welcome to do more.
- This is a paid opportunity with training provided. Interviews are expected to be completed over a 12 to 15 month period - starting in late February 2023.
