Become a Civil Defence Community Response Team volunteer
Do you have what it takes to become a Civil Defence Community Response Team (CRT) volunteer?
Selwyn District Emergency Managment is looking for passionate people to help their local community during an emergency - specifically in:
- Brookside/Irwell;
- Greenpark;
- Killincy;
- Norwood;
- Weedons;
- Broadfield;
- Coalgate;
- Motukarara;
- Springston; and
- Windwhistle.
The role of a CRT is to check on the most vulnerable people, gather information about what has happened or is happening, and open a drop-in centre if required. Volunteers are a friendly face to the public, treating people with compassion and respect in emergency situations.
Selwyn District Emergency Management want to hear from you if you’re available to attend annual training and complete a Police Vetting check.
