Volunteer drivers needed for Meals on Wheels
The Red Cross is eager to recruit some additional volunteer drivers to deliver Meals on Wheels in Canterbury - with Christmas and the holiday season fast approaching.
Meals on Wheels has been providing nutritious and tasty meals to people who are unable to cook for themselves for over 70 years.
Meals on Wheels is more than a food delivery service. The drivers provide regular social contact to their clients and an opportunity for someone to check that everything is okay.
You could be a volunteer Meals on Wheels delivery driver if you:
- are available to drive a two-hour mid-morning shift every two weeks;
- are 18 years or older with a valid driver’s licence;
- have a vehicle that is registered and has a current warrant of fitness; and
- pass a police vetting check.
