Join a study on NZ Green Seaweed supplements
Researchers at Lincoln and Waikato Universities are seeking volunteers for a study on how supplementation with natural NZ seaweed impacts the health of the gut and arteries. The study runs from January to April 2022.
This seaweed used for this study has been harvested in a cultivation facility in Tauranga and has tested negatively for heavy metals. Seaweed is rich in potassium, calcium, iron, zinc, phosphorus, sodium, magnesium and vitamins B, C, E, D and K.
Participating in this study involves:
- 2 FREE health checks (worth $300) conducted at the Exercise Science Laboratory in the Lincoln University Gym;
- Information about your arteries, blood health and gut health;
- An 8-week supply of natural NZ seaweed supplement capsules; and
- The potential to improve health naturally.
To join the study, you must be aged from 19 to 74 years old AND have at least one of the following:
- High blood pressure or currently on BP medication (hypertension with either Systolic over 130 or Diastolic over 85);
- Be overweight with Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30+;
- A waist measurement over 102cm for males, or 89cm for females; or
- High blood sugar (hyperglycaemia over 100mg/dL).
