Trauma Informed Care for Practitioners: Applying Principles to Practice and Responding to Challenges
As practitioners supporting people, we strive to acknowledge and validate the impact of trauma, and in collaboration with our clients, we aim to create a safe, therapeutic space to facilitate healing.
This advanced workshop with Mel Johns will explore how the principles of Trauma Informed Care could be applied to your particular field of practice. It considers strategies to appropriately respond to challenges around engagement, re-traumatisation, dissociation and loyalty to trauma. It also examines how to strike an appropriate balance between the past and the present, therapeutic relationship and therapeutic interventions.

Time: 9am to 1pm.
Location: Mental Health Education and Resource Centre (Level 1 at 12 Hazeldean Road, Addington) or online through Zoom.
