Telling our Stories Workshop with Humans of Christchurch Ōtautahi
Join Humans of Christchurch Ōtautahi for a FREE two-part workshop focusing on short-format storytelling as a way to record our heritage and connect with people in our community.
The Humans of Christchurch team have been collecting and sharing stories of people in the community since 2017. In this two part workshop, they will share their knowledge and experiences as part of the dynamic group of volunteer storytellers.
Learn the skills and techniques used to produce the short format stories like those published by Humans of Christchurch Ōtautahi. The first session will focus on the interview and writing component including how to engage, connect, listen and transcribe.
Date: Wednesday 11th June 2025.
Time: 10am to 2.30pm.
Location: Activity Room at Tūranga (60 cathedral Square, Central City).
Cost: FREE but registration is essential as spaces are limited.
The second session will be about photography - capturing a portrait which helps to tell the story. Gain the confidence and technical skills to create relatable images on your camera or smartphone that help to tell your story.
