No better time to learn Te Reo in the community
Join an ongoing FREE and flexible Community Reo learning group to learn or improve your kōrero in Te Reo. The group is facilitated by Doug Sellman (Ngāti Pākehā), supported by Steve Reid (Ngāti Porou), and coordinated by Hilly Wilson (Ngāti Pākehā).
Date and Time: Wednesdays from 2.15 to 3pm.
Location: The Anglican Centre (95 Tuam Street).
Cost: FREE.
The group is divided into Beginners’ on 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month and Ongoing Beginners on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. The whole group is tutored on Te Ao Māori by Steve on the 5th Wednesday of the month.
A Zoom link enables those not able to attend in person to participate. Weekly homework is sent out by email with answers to follow.
The classes are structured around aspects of two syllabuses:
- Beginners’ sessions are focused on pronunciation, basic sentences, and very short mihi; and
- Ongoing Beginners’ sessions focus on more advanced sentence structure, widening vocabulary, and longer mihi.
