Macular degeneration is the most common cause of blindness in people over 50 years of age in New Zealand. 1 in 7 people will get this eye disease and 1 in 4 people over 80 years will suffer vision loss.
Understanding more about this age-related eye disease is vital for ensuring independence and a good quality of life in old age. Early detection can save sight.
