Changes for NZ Gifts of Love and Strength
Registered Charity NZ Gifts of Love and Strength have had a complete change of focus since 1st July 2023.
They now only supply care handmade tote bags to Canterbury and West Coast youth aged 13 to 17 affected by sexual harm who use the FREE confidential services of The Cambridge Clinic to aid them in their healing journey.
Consequently NZ Gifts of Love and Strength do not accept referrals from the general public.
They are the first and only organisation to be doing this for this age group. 80 percent of items are handmade by volunteer knitters, crocheters and sewers. They have had older women offer to volunteer who are survivors who have stated there was no support available many years ago and by being able to knit and crochet or sew for youth the same age they find they are healing themselves at the same time.
Each item has been carefully selected by the medical specialists at the Cambridge Clinic to ensure they are suitable and every care package has the same items that aid with the young person's healing journey.
You can contact NZ Gifts of Love and Strength if you can assist, donate or wish to purchase fundraising items (giftsofloveandstrength[at]gmail.com or 0274 388 149).
