Mother4Mother Breastfeeding Peer Support Programme
The Mother4Mother Breastfeeding Peer Support Programme provides support for breastfeeding mothers in Canterbury.
The Canterbury-wide service is run by the Rural Canterbury PHO. The service trains and supports mothers with breastfeeding experience to support and encourage other breastfeeding mothers. These trained peer supporters also volunteer at breastfeeding support groups and provide one-to-one support when appropriate.
All pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, babies and toddlers are welcome. Sessions are facilitated by trained Breastfeeding Peer Supporters.
The Mother4Mother Breastfeeding Peer Support Programme is currently running in the following Canterbury locations:
- Aranui;
- Ashburton;
- Bishopdale;
- Halswell;
- Lyttelton;
- New Brighton;
- Shirley;
- Rangiora; and
- Rolleston.
