Staff needed for new community café initiative
Delta Community Trust in Richmond is opening a new Thursday evening community café, and are looking for volunteers to join their team on an ongoing basis. This is a chance to be part of something meaningful - helping create a welcoming place where people can gather, share a hot meal and build community.
A range of volunteer roles are available for people with different levels of experience, including:
- Experienced cooks or chef team leaders;
- Passionate home cooks and foodies; and
- Kitchen assistants.
Several people with strong cooking experience including kitchen leadership roles are needed, but the Trust is also looking for passionate and competent cooks to balance the team. While experience is essential, you don’t need formal cooking qualifications.
This Thursday café initiative is a new community service, and we’re looking for people who want to help balance the scales of food insecurity with aroha, choice, agency, and respect for culture.
