FREE Skin Check Day for those 50 and over
Come along to the Canterbury Charity Hospital’s FREE Skin Check Day - a volunteer-based initiative to identify skin cancer in low-income adults over the age of 50 years. A group of local dermatologists and other health professionals are offering their expertise to do the skin checks.
New Zealand has the highest incidence of skin cancer in the world. Some skin cancers can be fatal and early detection and treatment is very important to offer the best cure rate.
Date: Saturday 11th October 2025.
Time: 15 minute appointments from 8.30am to 4pm.
Location: Canterbury Charity Hospital (349 Harewood Road, Bishopdale).
Cost: FREE but you need to book. Registration is limited to one appointment per person.
No treatment will be performed on the day, so it is essential that patients are registered with a General Practitioner or Medical Centre for follow up.
