Let's Beat Bowel Cancer: FREE community awareness event
Join the Cancer Society Southern for an important evening focused on bowel cancer, gut health, and recovery. This FREE community event brings together local experts and support services as part of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month.
Date: Wednesday 18th June 2025.
Time: 7 to 9pm. Information stalls and refreshments from 8.30pm.
Location: Freemasons Centre (9 Shirley Road, Mairehau).
Cost: FREE.
The key speaker will be Professor Frank Frizelle ONZM - Professor of Colorectal Surgery at the University of Otago, Christchurch. He will speak on the changing face of bowel cancer.
You’ll also hear about:
- Signs, symptoms, and screening for bowel cancer;
- Local cancer support services; and
- Physiotherapy for cancer recovery.
