Sign the petition to retain the Ministry of Disabled Peoples
A petition has started to retain the funding model that was in place at the beginning of the 54th Parliament for the Ministry of Disabled People (Whaikaha), Whaikaha’s role delivering disability support services, and the Enabling Good Lives (EGL) approach.
The decision to move DSS contracting from Whaikaha to MSD was made with little to no consultation with disabled people, families and whānau and limited consultation with providers. the decision to place EGL on hold was made without consulting disabled people, families or whānau.
Please use your influence by signing and showing your support for Whaikaka so that they can continue to support our vulnerable deaf, low-vision and disabled community.
Sign the petition to retain the Ministry of Disabled Peoples and the Enabling Good Lives model (NZ Parliament).
The petition closes at midnight on Saturday 30th November 2024.
