WAVES: A Bereaved by Suicide Group programme
WAVES is an eight-week program that aims to support adults 18+ years old who have been bereaved by the suicide of someone they know.
The WAVES Bereaved by Suicide Group allows members to:
- share their thoughts and feelings around what’s happened;
- discuss the nature of suicide; and
- gain information and ideas about how to care for themselves and others - including children - after a suicide.
The group is facilitated by professional social workers and/or trained facilitators.
Cost is a koha or donation. Free on-on-one "wrap-around" support is also available leading up to and during the WAVES course.
