Join volunteering community planting days in September
Want to help create a living legacy for our city? Join an upcoming planting event with either Conservation Volunteers NZ in Amelia Rogers Reserve, Greendots with Te Ara Kakariki or CCC Park Rangers in the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor.
It helps if you can register online to volunteer so that the groups can plan in advance.
Planting days in the Amelia Rogers Reserve
Join Conservation Volunteers New Zealand | Te Ohu Tiaki Taiao o Aotearoa at Amelia Rogers Reserve - next to the Ōtākaro Avon River in the suburb of Burwood.
- Thursday 7th September (1 to 4pm);
- Thursday 14th September (1 to 4pm);
- Sunday 24th September (10am to 2pm) - in conjunction with CCC Park Rangers; and
- Tuesday 26th September (10am to 2pm).

Te Ara Kākāriki planting days in September
Join one of the four planting days coming up in September, planting native Greendots in an effort to create a corridor of stepping stones between the Canterbury Foothills and Te Waihora and Banks Peninsula.
- Saturday 2nd September (10am to 3.30pm) in Lincoln;
- Sunday 10th September (9.30am to 2pm) in Te Pae o Ahuriri;
- Sunday 17th September (10am to 3.30pm) in West Melton; and
- Saturday 30th September (10am to 3.30pm) in Springfield.

CCC Park Ranger volunteer days
Park rangers and the community are working together to realise the regeneration plan for the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor.
- Sunday 3rd September (10am to noon) at Eco-action Nursery Trust;
- Sunday 9th September (1 to 3pm) at Waikakariki/Horseshoe Lake - a spring maintenance day;
- Saturday 23rd September (1 to 3pm) at Barnett Park;
- Saturday 30th September (10am to noon) at Cedarwood Reserve - a spring maintenance day; and
- Saturday 30th September (1 to 3pm) at Bowenvale Reserve.
