Workshop: Understanding and Managing Change - Skills to Assist Clients
Change is constant, yet some change is harder to manage than others. This MHERC workshop with Sharon Bennett will explore change to better understand it. This workshop will look into aspects of perception and control and how these processes play a key role in managing the change before us.
Date: Thursday 17th October 2024.
Time: 9am to 1pm.
Location: Mental Health Education and Resource Centre (Level 1, 12 Hazeldean Road, Addington).
Cost: $139 per person.
It will be useful for those in roles who want to develop their skills in helping clients to better navigate change, such as social workers, support people and caring professionals.
Participants at this session will:
- Explore perceptions around change; the good, the bad, the indifferent;
- Gain an understanding of Appreciative Inquiry and Solution Focused approaches to better support change;
- Understand what it means to help others hit the “minimize button”;
- Learn how to develop self-efficacy in others; and
- Consider the role of emotions in managing change.
