Disability Law seminars: Know Your Rights
Auckland Disability Law are coming to Waitaha Canterbury to present three FREE sessions on your legal rights in education, decision making and employment. NZSL Interpreters will be present.
Date: Friday 18th October 2024.
Time: 9.30am to 3pm.
Location: BrainTree Wellness Centre (70 Langdons Road, Papanui). This venue is fully accessible.

Advocating for Your Child’s Rights in Education (9.30 to 11am)
Learn your rights under the Education Act and advocacy strategies. Suitable for parents and whānau.
Supported decision making and the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act (11.15am to 12.45pm)
Covers supported decision making, enduring powers of attorney and orders under the PPPR Act. Suitable for disabled people and also parents, whānau and other support people.
Employment (1.15 to 2.45pm)
Know what can and cannot be asked in an interview, reasonable accommodations in the workplace, pay or leave entitlements and disability related dismissals. Suitable for disabled people.
