Child Matters recommends that every organisation or school has at least one Child Protection Champion. We all have a critical role to play in keeping New Zealand’s children protected and safe. It is essential that we protect our future generations. The short and long term effects of abuse on children are:
- aggression, bullying and violence;
- criminal offending;
- behaviour disorders;
- social isolation;
- inability to form healthy relationships; and
- health related issues.
This impacts our community, our country and our future. We need to identify those children who are at risk!
This 5-day Programme is a pre-requisite for the NZ Diploma in Child Protection (NZQA Level 5). Graduates of the Diploma often go on to become leaders of child protection in their communities, raising the skills and consciousness of the entire community.
