Wednesday, January 10, 2018   Posted in: Training By: Administrator With tags: physical activity, exercise, Training, Courses

Do you struggle with motivation to be active? Be different in 2018.

Sport Canterbury’s Green Prescription BE ACTIVE programmes are for people wanting to increase their level of activity and have fun along the way.

In each eight-week programme, Be Active participants enjoy the opportunity to:

  • try out a range of activities such as  fun home-based exercise (Swissballs, Dynabands), beginners Zumba, and Tai chi;
  • discuss topics that support a healthy lifestyle e.g. motivation and healthy eating; and
  • enjoy the support of the other participants and Green Prescription staff.

All activities are suited to people new or returning to activity, with a focus on enjoying being active and giving things a go. Be Active programmes are suitable for anyone 16 years and above looking to increase their activity, health and wellbeing.

The Be Active Programme is running across Greater Christchurch during Term 1 in the following locations:

  • Be Active Spreydon at the Christchurch Irish Society - Monday afternoons (1.30 to 3pm) starting Monday 5th February 2018.
  • Be Active Wigram at the Harvard Community Lounge - Wednesday afternoons (1.45 to 3.15pm) starting Wednesday 7th February 2018.
