Take part in the Sex and Prevention of Transmission Study
Tēnā koe. The NZ AIDS Foundation needs members of the rainbow community to take the Sex and Prevention of Transmission Study (SPOTS) survey. Can you help?
The NZAF have been working with organisations like the University of Auckland, the University of Otago and Te Whāriki Takapou on this study which has just launched across Aotearoa.
The last time an HIV study this big was run was in 2014, so this is an exciting opportunity to gather data that will inform NZAF’s work. Data from the survey will also help improve Aotearoa’s blood donation policy for men who have sex with men (MSM), and reduce undiagnosed HIV, hepatitis C and syphilis in our communities.
The study wants to hear from all kinds of men who have sex with men, whether they identify as gay, bisexual, takatāpui tāne, pansexual, queer, straight, cis, trans or other identities.
The NZAF would also like to hear from trans women and non-binary or gender diverse people who have sex with MSM.
People living with HIV, treated (or untreated) hepatitis C, and/or past or current syphilis infections are all eligible to participate in the study, as well as those who do not have a history of any of those.
Take the SPOTS survey if you are an eligible to participate. Please share this survey with anyone you know who may be eligible.
