The Japanese Society of Canterbury invite you to Canterbury Japan Day 2019 - organised by many Japanese-Kiwi volunteers in Canterbury.
Date: Sunday 3rd March 2019. This is a rain or shine event!
Time: 10am to 4.30pm. Arrive by 9.45am to get a good spot for the opening ceremony.

Canterbury Japan Day 2019 will see the return of ‘the Japanese Autumn’ and bring some new aspect of popular cultural activities such as Wanko Soba noodle speed eating contest and the exciting Sumo competitions will take place again.
This event aims to create an opportunity for the Japanese residents in Canterbury to foster a collaborative community spirit in organising together one of the largest ethnic cultural festivals in Christchurch.
It is the day for the Japanese residents in Canterbury to proudly show their culture and who they are. It is also a great day for local people to get a taste and to enjoy this cultural event. The Japanese Society of Canterbury hope that through this event all of us will take the opportunity to realise the aim of "Christchurch Multi Cultural Strategy".
