Big Latch On events in Christchurch

The Big Latch On.World Breastfeeding Week is fast approaching (1st to 8th August 2018). Come along and celebrate breastfeeding at a Big Latch On event near you on Friday 3rd August!

The Big Latch On involves women gathering together at registered venues to breastfeed and to offer peer support to the other breastfeeding women in their community. Family, whānau, friends and breastfeeding supporters from the community also attend the events to support and promote breastfeeding.

Events are also being held in Fairlie, Temuka, Timaru, Twizel and Waimate.

McFaddens Centre

Time: 10.30am. Doors open at 9.30am. Morning tea served from 10am.
Location: McFaddens Road (St Albans).

It’s a good idea to arrive before 10.15am if you are going to join in with the big-latch-on and breastfeed – so you can find a seat and register.

Lots of great spot prizes, toddler entertainment with Natural Magic Pirates from 10.35am – action songs and a charming puppet show..

  • help set up (from 8am);
  • be a "meeter and greeter"; or
  • help with pack down.

Leeston Playcentre

Time: From 10am during our Playcentre session.
Location: 4 May Street (Leeston).

A welcoming and supportive group, with free morning tea for the mums and lots of activities for pre-schoolers of all ages!
