Getting Through Together Digest: 7th October 2020
Kia ora. How lucky are we? As of midnight tonight, the entire country will be at alert level one.
We can move freely within our own country, without the restrictions most other countries are facing. While we are lucky to be here, we can't forget that the pandemic continues to impact the lives of many globally - and right here in NZ. Not only are we all in this together but practicing feelings of both gratitude and compassion is good for our wellbeing.
In this issue, we have an incredible love story for you. It's a classic case of boy meets girl. Yet this is no ordinary love story, as these two have overcome a border closure, visa rejections and the pandemic to be together.
Our lovebirds are very grateful to be reunited when there are many others who are still waiting for those teary reunions.
So our thoughts are always with those:
- still separated from family orloved ones;
- with loved ones overseas;
- who haven’t been able to meet new grandchildren or children;
- who can't celebrate major milestones or engagements; or
- who have not been able to say goodbye.
Keep looking out for each other Aotearoa - you're doing great.
