Mental Health Awareness Week is back this October!

The week is endorsed by the World Federation for Mental Health and is marked in over 150 countries at different times of the year.

Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) will be held from 8th to 14th October in New Zealand, and we’re pleased to share the 2018 theme: Let nature in, strengthen your wellbeing!

There are many ways New Zealanders embrace nature, from learning about native birds and picking herbs from the garden to seeing the sunset from the kitchen window. Let Nature In to grow, support and nurture your wellbeing!

Register for MHAW updates and you’ll be the first to know when resources are live, when entries for the photo challenge open and find out how other New Zealanders are celebrating the week.

Five Ways to Wellbeing in nature

We’ll be giving you tips on how to use the Five Ways to Wellbeing within nature during Mental Health Awareness Week.

Research shows the Five Ways to Wellbeing (Give, Connect, Be Active, Take Notice and Keep Learning) can help you find balance, build resilience and improve wellbeing.

Simply apply the Five Ways to Wellbeing to your everyday life. Regardless of how much or little you interact with nature, you can make them work for you.
