Prosperity without Growth

Public Lecture in Christchurch - add it to your diary. It is not often that an economics text becomes a best-seller, but when it was first published in 2009, Professor Tim Jackson’s "Prosperity without Growth" did just that.

Jackson’s widely acclaimed challenge to conventional economics questioned the assumption of continued pursuit of economic growth and demonstrated that alternative more sustainable development paths are possible.

Seven years later Tim Jackson will give a free, lunch time public lecture hosted by the University of Canterbury - on the occasion of the launch of the revised 2nd edition of "Prosperity without Growth".

Date and Time: 17th February 2017, from noon
Location: The Piano (Armagh Street)

Seaweek February Poetry Competition

Sea Week.Seaweek is coming – 25th February to 5th March 2017. There is a  great range of events on during the week.

Our special competition this year is a poetry competition rather than an art one as we have done two years in a row. It will interesting to read the poems from all the different age categories and there are some lovely prizes to be won.
