Leadership Intel from NZIML: 22 February 2017

Thoughts from the new Emerging Leaders

The first series Emerging Leaders programme kicked off last week and wow; what an incredible group of young leaders. They are all so connected to their own development journey and have a real ambition, not just to be a leader in their work environment, but in the wider community.

One of their first group tasks was to create a leadership quote and we thought you may like to embrace one of these in your own organisation:

  • "Leadership is all about creating trust to influence people's behaviour toward a unified goal."
  • "Leadership is a state of mind whereby we influence ourselves and others to achieve a shared goal."
  • "Being a beacon of influence to inspire action, which achieves our goal."
  • "Leadership is empowering and influencing people to achieve a direction or goal in a credible way through consistent example, trust, admitting limitations, listening and feedback."

Thank you to those organisations who are investing in the next generation of leaders, we salute you!

Resilience: your anchors at times of change

Given the many changes in business, the world of work, our news, and the hot topic of international politics right now; it can feel as though managing change and surfing disruption is constant. So what can we hold onto when so much is moving at once?

Find out more about being resilient in changing times.

Unintentionally putting your team in a box

We love this short video; it makes you stop and think about how easy it is to place our team members in a box. Are they the new guy, the stress bunny, the class clown, the over-thinker, or the one with way too much ambition?

Take a look at this video and spend the rest of the week unpacking the boxes in your organisation; you may just discover something you never knew you had.

Share it with others in your organisation.

Executive Education: calling your decision makers

Our three Senior Management Programmes are gaining momentum and ownership in the marketplace. The programmes are designed to challenge the decision makers in your organisation. If you would like to speak to a past participant about the programme, please let us know and we can connect you.

There are two pathways for the Senior Management Programme; one is via our Mezzo Leadership Scholarship and the other is by self-selection of an individual programme. Select one of the options below to find out more:

Apply today if you are ready to be challenged and change the way you contribute.
