Invitation to 2018 Healthy Christchurch Hui

Wednesday, November 08, 2017   Posted in: Healthy Christchurch Notices By: Administrator With tags: planning, meeting, forum, Hui

Healthy Christchurch Logo.Kia ora koutou. The Healthy Christchurch Interim Working Group invites you to join them at a hui to find out more about Healthy ‘Greater’ Christchurch and other fantastic initiatives happening - or that could happen - in the region. All signatories and potential signatories are welcome.

This hui was previously scheduled to occur on 24th November 2017 and has been postponed due to some significant conflicts.

Date: Friday 16th February 2018.
Time: 9am to 2.30pm. Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
Location: Lincoln Event Centre (15 Meijer Drive, Lincoln).

Note: A separate event will be held in Waimakariri in early 2018 to link in with an existing network meeting.

Register online now to attend the 2018 Healthy Christchurch Hui. RSVP your attendance at the Healthy Christchurch Hui by Saturday 10th February 2018.

The Healthy Christchurch Interim Working Group will share updates about:

  • what they’ve been working on this year;
  • how it connects to the Greater Christchurch Partnership; and
  • what the Greater Christchurch Partnership is.

The rest of the hui will be devoted to signatories and other organisations in an Open Space Unconference format. This means we will build the programme for the afternoon together. So you will be able to pitch:

  • your project you want others to know about;
  • an idea for a project you want to share; or
  • an important topic you want people to connect with.

Email Healthy Christchurch if you have any questions about the hui (healthychristchurch[at]cdhb.health.nz).

More information on Open Space Unconference format

An unconference is a participant-driven meeting. In other words: you decide what topics you want to talk about, and work on, with whom.

Open Space is a kind of unconference that starts with an empty schedule. No times are set, no rooms are allocated, no topics are mandated, and no separations are made between ‘speakers’ and ‘audience’.  Anyone who wants to initiate a discussion on a topic can pitch and idea. Unconferences typically feature open discussions rather than having a single speaker at the front of the room giving a talk, although any format is permitted.  Participants work out a schedule by suggesting and arranging sessions collaboratively.

Since everything is created collaboratively by the participants, obviously it matters which people feel invited, so feel welcome to share this invitation with other people or organisations.
