Become a board member for the Women's Centre

The Womens Centre Christchurch logo.Do you have an interest in women’s wellbeing and social change? The Women’s Centre is recruiting board members to be part of the Centre’s decision making process. As a board member you will be part of a dynamic team working on a diverse range of tasks including strategic and business planning, fundraising, financial planning, and policy making.

Successful applicants will also be involved in ensuring that the Centre is operating in accordance with their constitution. The time commitment is one board meeting per month from 5.30 to 7pm - dates and times can vary depending on the availability of board members). Board members will also attend an annual AGM and strategic planning session.

Successful applicants do not need to have had prior committee/board experience, but must be willing to contribute ideas, enjoy working with a variety of women, and have an interest in women’s issues.

The Women’s Centre works with and for the well-being of all women, by assisting, supporting and encouraging them to make informed choices in their lives. The Centre is a non-profit organisation providing information, advocacy and support for women. Their services include free counseling, free legal advice and low-cost courses.
